I want to reclaim my creative space. I've been looking around and I miss the joy and motivation I had when a completed project was for me, just me. Now everything I do is for work, how can it make me money, will I make enough, is it cost-efficient. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do, but it can be hard. The time away was nice, because I missed my studio and am enjoying sewing again; but I am making an effort to make something just for me, every now and then, as welll as making time for new projects, and experiments.
First, a lovely winter quilt methinks, as the weather is cooling down pretty darn fast. See more creative spaces here.

I know exactly what you mean! I was doing lots of portrait commissions, and I totally lost all enjoyment in drawing. Had to stop doing them and have a long break, do some drawing just for me... It definitely helped!
Oh your teacup deer is adorable!!!! And look at all the dolly making you've been up too!
I just love your bearded fellows, but that deer sailing in a cup of tea - oh my!
Funnily enough, I have just had this conversation with my sister who is a very clever artistic girl and has poured every creative thought into her business. We decided that there has to be time appointed for private creativity where stuff you want to create for yourself or as a private gift or any use you want is given priority. It needs to be scheduled in and given proper consideration as without that time it is easy to become burned out and feel used and empty. Your time is where you get the joy back and the balance!
Gosh I love your bearded men folk. Also your studio most be so full of stuffing?!! *s*
