new stockist! Mr Sparrow

(Anna and Mr Sparrow in Frankie)

You can now find Pepper Stitches in the gorgeous Mr Sparrow, in Perth, Australia. Now you can find Pepper Stiches in 4 States! How exciting!

If you are over that way, Mr Sparrow stocks oh-so-many-delightful things. Anna, the owner, is delightful too. How do I know? Well she's lovely. And there is an online shop. I have seen it and lusted mightily. I know.

clever grrantler and brother and sister grrantlers

Yay! The grrantlers are finished!

The grrantler siblings are quiet but playful once you get to know them. They like to whisper scary stories and collect funny shaped rocks.

The clever grrantler is quiet and studious and dislikes poor grammar, but loves to eat toffee, read books with long words and giggle at the rude bits in nature documentaries. With a waistcoat and spectacles, this grrantler is well suited to a bookshelf, library or study, and will make a loyal friend. (do you think he pulls off the waistcoat, Jessica?)

The siblings are off to France! Oui! and the clever grrantler is in my etsy shop and reading a book while he waits to meet his new family.

hooray! stockists update today!

The ace store (formerly known as) Pulp Life has had a name change (same location), and is now known as Neck Of the Woods (isn't that logo fantastic? More bears!)

Hooray! You can now find Pepper Stitches at The Standard C&G, an online boutique (based in the US) with lots and lots of lovely things. Very boutique and everything stocked has been repurposed, recycled or upcycled. I love. If you look closely you can see a Pepper Stitches bunny sweater cushion, and mixed tape cushions too.

Pepper Stitches will also be sold in a new online store by Little Ray Designs, a maker of handmade childrens clothes in Melbourne. There'll be foxes and fishes too; I'll let you know when the site is up!

I'm currently looking for more stockists. If you know of a store (or have one) that you think Pepper Stitches would suit, please let me know, that'd sure be swell!

superhero bears

Continuing with the superhero theme lately, I've made some superhero bears; just like the dress-up bears but with embroidered glasses and features, and a superhero cape with felt intial.

Superhero bears like to fit heroic deeds in between soft cuddles. They also like reading cereal boxes, watching birds fly (for tips) and drinking lemonade. Made out of reclaimed blankets, this bear is soft and cuddly. He has embroidered glasses and features, and his cape is made from a repurposed collared shirt with easy velcro fasteners to take the cape on and off as needed for superhero duties. The initial on his cape could stand for anything you like. Superhero bears are very good friends and wonderful playmates. They are good at keeping secrets and giving hugs, and will make a loyal friend.

bearded folk men dolls

Bearded folk men like drinking tea on steps, patting dogs and playing guitar in folk bands. They are ready to make friends and will make loyal and trustworthy companions.

They are also available as a custom item, if you’d like your favourite colour. Or if you have a bearded friend you’d like to immortalise in cute bearded doll fashion.

telephone animals

I finished these guys last week, but just got around to posting about them. They use a pattern I made years ago, with the addition of ears and noses. (I thought, hmm, telephones, bit ordinary. What do they need? Of course! EARS!)

There's a bunny, a bear, a mouse and a squirrell; and they are made from new and recycled textiles and felt. Soft and squishy, they're safe for kids and cute as, perfect for playing or looking sweet on a shelf or couch. They are in my etsy and blue caravan shops now.

Sophie & Marie

Sophie and Marie are this guys sisters, made to fit those cute dresses from way back when. They have soft ginger hair with a lace bow, removable dresses and if you peek you can see their green underwear. They are big enough for cuddles and small enough to accompany new friends on outings and visits.

Sophie likes to play pretend, feed ducks at the pond and listen to bed-time stories. Marie prefers dressing up, picnics and singing along to nursery rhymes.

Sophie is in my etsy shop; Marie is available on blue caravan.

new cards

After I had a go at making Christmas cards, I tried a few more. The top one has a print of bunting and says 'hooray!', the middle one says 'happy housewarming' with a watercolour print of cute houses. And the last one is for someone you really like. It says 'you are the jam to my peanut butter'.

They are $3.50, with envelope, and in my blue caravan shop now.

my creative space- watercolours

The Boy loves the Tigers football team, his whole family follow them (and now me too). Before the game last week I was mucking around drawing things, and drew him wishing he was a tiger. His best friend was over too, he goes for St George Dragons, so I drew him too.

I was thinking of putting these in my shop as a custom order watercolour- I think I'd like the challenge, I just need a photo, name and what sporting team they go for. Do you think people might like them for their friends or partners?

All of these things are in my shop now (etsy, madeit, blue caravan) and some more too.
Every order this week comes with a free cute hair bow. Lovely!

mixed tape goodness at Poppytalk

Pepper Stitches has a table at the lovely Poppytalk Handmade virtual market, all this month. Poppytalk has themes each month (ooh I DO love a good theme) and this month it's all about mixed tapes. Mmm. Mixed tapes. These are my mixed tape mini-cushions, with titles like 'i like you' and 'hits of the 80s'; they're in the market and also in my etsy shop.

Do go have a look at Poppytalk; that is, if you feel the need for feasting your pretty eyes on lovely things. Maybe just pop your credit card in the freezer first though, for your own good.

(I have internet connected today! Yay! I have missed you! Prepare yourselves for a barrage of posts as I catch up!)

flea market finds

Oops a little (quite a lot, actually) late but better late than never! Here are some vintage-y things I have found this week and last week in my op-shop explorations. I am starting to visit op-shops quite a lot (even more than before!) in my quest for recycled fabrics (some nice op-shops even let me trawl through their gonna-throw-out pile for goodies! Which is what I prefer, I’d rather use stuff that would otherwise be landfill than stuff that is just second-hand. I want to eventually be using only recycled materials, but I digress). During these missions I -of course- end up looking at everything else in the store, and finding cute little vintage-y things like this that I just have to get.

So I’m going to start a section in my etsy store for ‘vintage-y goodness’. This means that I can still search for vintage goodness, and I still get to collect them, but they can be in constant rotation and be released back into the wild! Remember the gold deer? And those salt and pepper shakers? They’ll be in there too. Open soon!
