worth it? or just a nuisance?
I have an ad on the sidebar there now. A sponsor, if you will. Spruiking lollipops by way of a puppet flashing his bottom. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I wish it didn't flash so much (ha! pun not intended!) but any method that can buy me more time to do what I love (and buy fabric supplies. mmm... )... Are silly ads worth it? Or just a nuisance? Sometimes when I visit a blog with lots of ads I feel it can cheapen the feel of the whole blog. And I know some people wear the 'ad-free blog' badge with pride.
How do you feel about ads on blogs? Would you put an ad on your blog? Will you still visit me and say hi if you must be affronted by an ad here and there? Or shall I take the darn thing off?

Well I just have one of those adblocker things(?) installed or whatever (mm, so not techy at all!) so I didn't even notice it. It doesn't bother me at all.
the sponsors section? it's not annoying or anything. but what can i say, I do Blogher on mine.
my general thought, if it makes you enough money to be worth it, do it. if not, skip it. :)
I'd give it a few months to decide. I dropped some ads i had on mine because it just wasnt worth the effort or the screen real estate, but i've kept others.

So weird Pepper, I have a different view of the same stencil art as my recent post on MY blog too! Coincidence or not? The ad? Yeah, I don't love it, but is it lucrative?
I am going with not bothered....I too feel the dilemma of now having a bum baring chuppa chump on my blog too....bizarre....but if it brings on more crafty goodness I say go for it!
Do it sis. And buy lots of damn pretty things with your earnings. And then post them all to me.
I say go for it if it's what you want.It doesn't bother me if a blog has ads if I like the blog. It only becomes annoying when it seems there is nothing on the blog but ads. Don't find the little fella intrusive at all!
I have to tell you I'm not a fan of ads (and that one's pretty bad!) BUT but but (no pun just buns)... it's your blog and you should do whatever you like!! It's not going to stop me visiting here :) K
Keep it. Why not? If it buys you at least 2 buttons it should be worth it. :) Is not big nuisance.

I had to search for the ad to actually find it, so imo it is not distracting at all. Even though I personally find all advertising superfluous (ha, I know what I'm saying - I worked in internet advertising for 4 years), I wouldn't be too strict with it. If it brings in a significant amount of money, then keep it and enjoy the extra cash. If there is only a couple of dollars per week - out with it.
I can't even find the ad!! Do it. I am interested to know how it goes.
